Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed her role. Her parents, however, did not allow her to act until she turned an adult due to the effects stress would affect their child. Perry says she didn't want to become an actor during high school but decided to take up acting as a social activity at Northwestern University when she switched to the university from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University moved into New York in search of television roles. Her small part was on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness led her to California to find theater work. She and her mother starred on Broadway with her for the play The Other Place, in 2013. She performed with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry starred in the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on the ABC drama The Family. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's political thriller Scandal in which her father was the main character. She played the role of the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. She was cast in the role in an audition that was open despite having a connection to this character.
